  this is my first time in a discussion forum.

  i'm an ex-jw who hasn't "officialy" left the religion because i'm afraid my family will shun me.

  i've been "inactive" for 10 years.

  It sucks. And faking it is too hard, esp when they want to quiz you on a recent WT article. We're all in the same boat, some have had to maintain a facade, and others-myself included- have called fraud and shennanigans on the whole mess and disassociated officially, and as a result have lost our families to their hateful religion. They say it's our choice to have no family, but it isn't, it's their choice to obey human words masquerading as God's words.

  We're in a sad place because we miss our parents, friends, sisters, brothers, but it's not a life, what we were as JWs, and we must be true to self because real peace lies in that.

  On knowing what you are not supposed to know and . . .

  over 20 years ago i came across this theory "on knowing what you are not supposed to know and feeling what you are not supposed to feel" at the time my focus was on abusive families and how this concept fit into it.

  the citation for the article follows but i will break it down.

  Interesting read. My mother told me I did NOT remember her assaulting my dad on many occasions. The broken window in their bedroom was NOT from her throwing a box of laundry detergent at him. (I saw it happen). When I was 18 I took my mom's hand once, as we talked I saw for the first time the scars on her wrist from one of the times she tried to kill herself, she denied it, said that they were nothing. And still at age 71, pioneer for 30 years, wife of same elder, she's still perfect, she's still the boss of everyone, she knows everything.

  And when it comes to the WTS, doctrine changes, evil application of the JW shunning rule, deadly blood transfusion law, changed dates, false prophecy, child endangerment and sexual abuse, why. . .

  that's just daddy asleep on the kitchen floor. Juice anyone?

  Poor grandma Olga. Isn't it funny that the birth parents lost custody of him when they placed him in danger with their drug habit, but the aunt put him in danger and cost him his life and that was ok. Do you suppose that if he wanted to do drugs with his parents that the courts would have prevented him? but allowed this decision as a minor that killed him.

  Question about blood loss NOT transfusion

  ello, ok, so i didnt want to go to the gym today, and to make up for that, my husband asked me to find the answer on something, so here's the question, and im hoping that someone can help answer it.

  why is it not ok to leave blood from a wound on the ground?

  Was a jw for 35 years. I never heard of not leaving blood on the ground. They do use a particular scripture for their own use that sounds similar. The scripture says that blood should be poured out on the ground in the case of killing an animal for food, and not eating the blood. . .aka properly bleeding an animal.

  They used this reference forever in explaining why they couldn't store their own blood (pre-surg) for transfusion if needed during surgery. Then when they changed their doctrine and now allow a dozen or more specific blood fractions, this scriptural reference is nowhere to be found.

  About the unforgivable sin of blasphemy of holy spirit

  ok, i'm a newbie of jw and the reason why i'm here is because i once said "i deny of holy spirit" out of the disappointment at christianity that includes a theory of hell for disbelievers.

  however i love jesus and please i want to know what's jw's belief on hell and afterlife, what's jw's belief on "blasphemy of holy spirit" which is said to be unforgivable.

  please i really feel i'm hell bound and i hope i can get a relief here.

  According to the Bible, I think, it is by our actions that we could blaspheme the holy spirit, not by saying that we deny it.

  Example The Jws would say that we on this site have 'blasphemed against the HS' because we were in 'the truth' and left it, hence we are labelled 'apostates'. However, since the JW religion is itself an organization whose existence is a blasphemy against the holy spirit, the former just isn't true. We aren't apostate JWs, the whole JW religion is apostate.
